Kaisen, 76, walked into the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Long Island Sunday to be seen about his mental health issues. When he was turned away at the emergency room, he went out to his car and shot himself. Workers at the hospital spoke to The New York Times saying, “Someone dropped the ball. They should not have turned him away.”
